Meridian Energy has recently established an infrastructure that employs AVEVA s PI System alongside many accompanying tools. Our generating assets communicate real-time data from sites to our PI Data Archive where we can perform analytics to contextualise data. This presentation will highlight how the PI System has been integrated into our company structure, and dive into example cases where AVEVA s tools have enabled us to contextualise our data. The two examples of our condition monitoring models are our Fatigue Monitoring model and Unit Stopping Analysis model. The Fatigue Monitoring model has highlighted the way we operate our generating assets and will provide a foundation for future, more complex operation analytics. The Unit Stopping Analysis model has provided a display where our mechanical engineers can easily access and filter the data relevant to unit stops. These insights can help drive the decision-making process by illustrating the performance and condition of our generating assets.
